Editing
As we have already established in many lessons before, editing is the core of any production. And that is exactly why we spent 40+ hours editing our video. Because we knew that if the editing failed, no matter how much energy has been spent on pre-production, it bears no fruit. So I'll walk you through some of our editing decisions.
Key Takeaway Number 1: We desaturated all the flashback scenes to create a film noir effect. So that the audience understands that it was the past
Key Takeaway Number 2: We used as many ambient diegetic sounds as much I could to create a sense of verisimilitude.
Key Takeaway Number 3: To create an easy transition between energetic music and dark music, We used ambient transitions such as natural thunder sound and evil shriek.
Overall, to give you an idea, We were working in over 7 layers of diegetic and non-diegetic sounds to create a cinematic production. They all contributed one drop to the overall ocean of creativity.
